I will be glad to know the result if the SMPS
(Power Supply) develops any fault,.
Will it damage the mother board? or other components.

The box also some time creates vibrations
as if the fan has developed a fault.

Raj:

If the power supply goes bad, it will not nessesarily harm anything else. The only thing it could do is possibly send a jolt of current through the motherboard, and that would, obviously, be bad. However, I have never heard of something like that happening.

If you are hearing the fan make noise, or the computer is vibrating, be sure that the power supply fan is the culprit. There is also a fan over the processor, and there may be a case fan (used to cool the computer in general) inside the computer. So make sure it is that fan that is causing the problem.

If the power supply fan dies, then the power supply will overheat and you will have to replace it. If the fan over the processor goes bad, then your processor overheats, and you will have to replace it. The best thing to do is replace whichever is causing a problem before it turns into something serious.
