When I attempt to Defrag the following happens:
1. I close all Programs
2. I start the defrag procedure
3. Everything comes up as it should, but it
does not defrag. It remains at 0%.
4. I have never had this problem before. It
really started just after I installed a
new anti-virus Program (Grisoft) and
a Firewall (Zonealarm).
5. Could this have anything to do with the

Try this, Run SCANDISK before you try running DEFRAG. Set scandisk to STANDARD and check the box that says, "automatically fix errors".
Next From the Desktop, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up the End Task box. Highlight and End Task everything except Explorer, SysTray, Make sure your screen saver is turned off. Now defrag. Since it failed at least once already, expect the defrag to take a while.
