Problem: When my friend clicks the Search button and the page opens to the left showing the search area in IE5. We try to customize her search engines by clicking on the customize button, the box opens and we can make the choices, but we cannot get down to the OK button on her screen to finish. There is no maximize restore button on that page and it will not allow us to drag it high enough with the title bar. We are not able to use the two sided arrow trick either on that box. Any suggestions?

Try this:

Open the customize window. RIGHT-CLICK on the titlebar. Choose SIZE from the options.

Press the up arrow one time. Press the down button and you will see the window outline shrinking. When you have it down to an acceptable size, press enter. The window will be resized.

Your suggestion for the above problem worked just great in WIN98, but WIN95 does not have a SIZE option, just move. It will not allow us to move it high enough to get to the bottom. MOre suggestions?

You are right, Win95 doesn't have the Size feature on that.... weird. Well, here is what you are going to have to do, because I don't think you will be able to use move to get the screen to go up far enough.

Right-click on the desktop. Click properties.

Click on the "settings" tab.

On the bottom-right, there is a box for screen size. It most likely says 640X480. Click on the slider bar, and drag it to the right until it changes to 800X600. Click OK. It may make you restart the computer... if so, restart.

If not, it may ask if you want it to apply the settings without rebooting, say yes. Then, when it is resized, tell it that you want to keep the settings.

Then, get into IE and fix the search problem. Then go back into the properties and change the screen size back to 640X480 (if you want, you can leave it at 800X600).
