I know that you have to save the attachments in e-mail in order for McAfee Active Shield to "catch" the virus. I have created a folder in My Documents to quarantine the e-mail till I can scan it with McAfee. You have to go online to have this program scan your files. My question is, can it scan it with the attachment still in the e-mail, or do I have to save the attachment individually? The problem is that so many people send forwards through AOL or MSN and you might have to open 5 or 6 attachments in one email message before you get to the real article. Can the virus program see the virus if the attachment is not the final file?
